Anyone who uses MS Outlook (any version) for their email communications at work should consider taking this course, regardless of their role. Analysts, engineers, programmers, managers, and more can all benefit from the techniques and processes outlined in this course.
I already know how to use Outlook. Why should I take this course?
This course goes beyond just finding your way around in Outlook, including many intermediate techniques of which the casual Outlook user may not be aware. This course provides practical suggestions about how this software tool can help you with your day-to-day work, regardless of your role. Most people only use a fraction of the available functionality of Outlook. You can learn to make the tool work for you, by being aware of what is possible.
Outlook is for email. What else can it do for me?
MS Outlook is more than an email client. Outlook includes often overlooked functionality for managing your time, your resources, your documents, and your workload. Learning how to put these components to work for you can improve productivity and reduce stress. Within each Outlook component, there are a number of more advanced techniques that many people never put to use. Having an entire team of people implement some of these techniques collectively can improve collaboration and increase morale within a team.
How long does the course take from start to finish?
The course is self-paced and can be completed in about 2-3 days. The average learner may study 4-5 hours per day with modules no longer than 20 mins. The MS Outlook Basics course library current consists of approximately 33 videos.
What is covered in the course?
This course provides students with the skills to more effectively use the basic functionality of MS Outlook to better manage their communications, workload, and time. Each section includes guidance in understanding what functionality is available within Outlook and then progresses on to show how to use it with practical examples and suggestions. While this course focuses on the most recent version Outlook 2019, most of the topics within the course are applicable and relatable to most other versions of Outlook (including 2013, 2016, and 365). Not every feature or recommendation will be useful to everyone, but everyone should be able to come away from this course with at least one new process using MS Outlook functionality to improve the management of their day to day workload.
